Asset Management Research

Another Hot Summer Book Cover

The Monthly Talent Acquisition Monitor tracks open positions at 25 of the largest mutual fund and ETF asset management firms on a continuous basis to identify trends and analyze what they mean for the future of asset management structures and strategies. Among the information collected for open positions are title, location, compensation range, work status (i.e., onsite, hybrid, remote), posting date, organizational area, and position level. Monthly analysis of this information helps with early identification of trends that will impact both short-term recruitment practices and the long-term evolution of the industry.

About Me

My name is Kristin Adamonis, CFA. I have been a financial researcher, writer, and editor for the asset management industry for the past 24 years. My career in asset management began at Financial Research Corporation (FRC), where I held three different roles, Research Analyst, AVP, Writer and Editor and VP, Senior Editor. After 10 years with FRC, I embarked on a freelance career. In this capacity, I have worked for research firms, including FUSE Research Network and Sway Research, and asset management companies, such as Mirae Asset Global Investments, BlackRock Investment Institute, and Putnam Investments.

During my career, I have participated in numerous research studies on staffing and compensation in the Product, Sales, National Accounts, and Marketing areas of asset management firms. This background and recent observations about how the asset management talent landscape is changing led me to identify a need in the marketplace for timely information and analysis on recruitment trends.

To access this information, I created a database that is updated on a continuous basis and populated with several data points for each position, including posting data, title, organizational area, location, salary range, hybrid work status, and level. Using this data, I can analyze recent shifts in recruitment trends and practices and recognize longer-term structural changes at asset management firms.
